What is EKOKIT?

EKOKIT is a range of self-build eco houses that have been specifically designed to be flexible, sustainable and within the price reach of ordinary New Zealanders.
EKOKIT homes can be built anywhere in New Zealand, under the supervision of a Licensed Building Practitioner. If you don't wish to manage your EKOKIT build yourself, your EKOKIT is also available as a complete finished home. Contact us to find out more about this option.

With a range of designs to choose from, you will easily find the right home to suit your site, needs and budget, and you can rest assured that all EKOKIT designs are based on passive solar principles, are thermally and water efficient and incorporate safe, healthy building materials.
The designs are extremely flexible, including innovative modular options that allow you to start off small and grow your home at a later date as your needs change.
How does it work?
While the major components of an EKOKIT are prefabricated and delivered to you in a container, EKOKIT is not a kitset in the usual sense – it is rather a system for building a sustainable home that minimises the waste associated with traditional house building while also keeping the cost at a sensible and affordable level.
